\n\tIt seems Will Ferrell<\/a> can add predicting the future to his list of talents.<\/p>\n

\n\tMolly Shannon<\/a> made a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a>, where she opened up about her decades-long friendship with the beloved actor.<\/p>\n

\n\tShe recalled working at a \u201ccappuccino, scone place\u201d in Los Angeles in the mid-1990s, when she was introduced to Ferrell through the Groundlings comedy troupe. \u201cWe clicked right away,\u201d she said, noting that they met for the first time at the restaurant where she worked, and that she served him a scone and a latte. \u201cWe\u2019ve been friends ever since. 30 years.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThey were later hired on Saturday Night Live<\/a> <\/a>in 1995, which not only launched them both into stardom but also became a defining era for the NBC sketch comedy series. <\/p>\n

\n\tWhile reflecting on her early SNL days with host Jimmy Kimmel, the Divorce actress remembered one conversation she had with Ferrell that was surprisingly predictive of modern-day Hollywood.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOne night when we were at SNL, we had just started, and I was so excited like, \u2018Oh my god, this job\u2019s so great,’\u201d Shannon explained. \u201cAnd Will was kind of dark and he was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know. Who knows how long this is going to last?’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201c\u2018I just think it\u2019s not going to last long, and I think actors are eventually going to be replaced by robots, and they\u2019re not going to need human actors anymore,’\u201d The Other Two actress recalled Ferrell telling her.<\/p>\n

\n\tShannon admitted she dismissed the idea at first, focusing on a more optimistic view of the future: \u201cI was like, \u2018What? Are you crazy? You\u2019re being so dark.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, she said they \u201cdie laughing about it now,\u201d seeing just how on the nose the Barbie actor\u2019s comments were with the rise of artificial intelligence and AI actors<\/a> in the industry over the last few years.<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the time, though, Shannon said Ferrell quipped that he would be alright with whatever happens: \u201cHe said, \u2018I could have a job working as a dog groomer or as a UPS driver or as a coach and still be happy.’\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tIn response, Kimmel joked that he had some \u201cbad news\u201d for Ferrell about the UPS driver job, as \u201cthat\u2019s going to be a robot situation, too. He can probably groom dogs, but I feel like they\u2019re going to figure out dog grooming robots before they figure any of the other stuff out.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition to SNL, Shannon and Ferrell have appeared in numerous movies together, including Superstar\u00a0(1999), A Night at the Roxbury\u00a0(1998) and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby\u00a0(2006), among others.
