Now, I\u2019ve pledged to getting up at 6am to go to Stronger by B\u2019s 6.45am gym sessions,\u2019 she says on her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LKodfm-Krsc\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=LKodfm-Krsc\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"YouTube video\" data-node-id=\"8.1.0\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">YouTube video<\/a> documenting her journey, in which she prioritises <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/strength-training\/a706202\/strength-training-for-beginners\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/strength-training\/a706202\/strength-training-for-beginners\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"strength\" data-node-id=\"8.3\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">strength<\/a> over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/fat-loss\/a70389598\/best-cardio-for-fat-loss-experiment\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/fat-loss\/a70389598\/best-cardio-for-fat-loss-experiment\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"cardio\" data-node-id=\"8.5\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">cardio<\/a> and fad diets to prove to others that it is possible to \u2018achieve results without intense restrictions\u2019.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"12\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">On day one of her 30-day challenge, she says: \u2018Here I am at 6am, belly out, feeling dead to the world. There is nothing wrong with my \u201cbefore body\u201d; fitness should be about feeling good, not the number on a scale.\u2019 So, did she reach her goal and get fit in 30 days? Here\u2019s her honest results, and everything she learned.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"17\" class=\"body-tip css-1c5elkc emevuu60\">While Susie didn\u2019t follow a diet, she did prioritise protein in order to manage her PCOS symptoms, with <a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC10904368\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC10904368\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"studies\" data-node-id=\"17.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">studies<\/a> showing an increase in protein consumption can improve blood sugar control and insulin response, which reduces cravings, fatigue and fat storage \u2013 all possible side effects of PCOS. \u2018I focused on having a high protein breakfast in the morning,\u2019 Susie explained, caveating that, \u2018food can be for enjoyment, it doesn\u2019t have to just be for fuel, and this girl loves food\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><img draggable=\"true\" alt=\"fitness challenge\" title=\"fitness challenge\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2890\" height=\"1616\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" style=\"color:transparent;width:100%;height:auto;\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/2bd91672-911c-4dc8-92aa-d2aac6b9b87b.png\" class=\"css-0 e1g79fud0\"\/>YouTube<\/p>\n<p>Susie implemented high protein breakfasts like eggs and turkey bacon<\/p>\n<p>1. Early workouts feel productive \u2013 but fitting in pre-workout fuel isn\u2019t easy<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"24\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Getting up early to exercise is hard, but getting up even earlier to eat before training is harder. The bad news is that experts are unanimous: women (especially those with hormonal conditions like PCOS) should always eat before exercising in order to stabilise their blood sugars, as a small meal or snack provides your body with glucose for energy, which reduces blood sugar dips during or after your session. Blood sugar dips can cause cortisol spikes which exacerbate PCOS symptoms, as well as low energy, which is something Susie experienced firsthand when training fasted.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"28\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">\u2018I did feel really weak today, I&#8217;m not going to lie. I&#8217;m going to try and have something to eat before I go to the gym tomorrow morning, but it&#8217;s just so hard to eat something at like 5.30am, but other than that it was a good session.\u2019<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"33\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">If this is you, Adam Clarke, run coach at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/purdue_performance\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/purdue_performance\/?hl=en\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Purdue Performance\" data-node-id=\"33.1\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Purdue Performance<\/a> recommends trying four rice cakes with honey and a banana, or two slices of white toast with strawberry jam + a banana before a workout. Avoid anything too high fibre, he says.<\/p>\n<p>2. Strength came sooner than she thought <img draggable=\"true\" alt=\"fitness challenge\" title=\"fitness challenge\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2890\" height=\"1602\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" style=\"color:transparent;width:100%;height:auto;\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/5b690b24-f9c7-45e6-8546-09d435906023.png\" class=\"css-0 e1g79fud0\"\/><\/p>\n<p>YouTube<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"39\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Scientifically, women start to feel stronger after two to three weeks of consistent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/strength-training\/a706202\/strength-training-for-beginners\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/strength-training\/a706202\/strength-training-for-beginners\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"strength training\" data-node-id=\"39.3\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">strength training<\/a>, while visible strength gains typically take around six to twelve weeks. For Susie, the turning point came at week four.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"43\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">\u2018It\u2019s already week four. How has this gone so quick? It was upper-body day which is my favourite day ever. I already feel so much stronger than when I started and I managed to get up for the morning session, so proud of myself for doing that.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"47\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">\u2018I can&#8217;t believe I lifted 9 kilos in bench press today, that&#8217;s 18 kilos in total. I already feel so much stronger. Look at these guns. You can kind of see it, and we\u2019re only at the halfway point of the eight-week programme. I&#8217;m starting to see some baby gains.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"51\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">\u2018I already feel so much stronger and I can&#8217;t wait to be lifting those real heavy weights that I used to lift. Feeling strong is honestly the best thing ever.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img draggable=\"true\" alt=\"fitness challenge\" title=\"fitness challenge\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2890\" height=\"1614\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" style=\"color:transparent;width:100%;height:auto;\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/2027471c-43a8-4b64-86c7-c03431be2781.png\" class=\"css-0 e1g79fud0\"\/><\/p>\n<p>YouTube<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"56\" class=\"body-tip css-1c5elkc emevuu60\">A quick caveat: fitness, including strength and muscle growth, isn\u2019t driven by exercise or nutrition alone. Movement helps preserve muscle, support metabolic health and improve how your body uses energy, but what you eat still matters. The most effective approach combines smart training with nourishing, realistic nutrition habits you can maintain long term.<\/p>\n<p>3. She progressed her workouts after two weeks <img draggable=\"true\" alt=\"fitness challenge\" title=\"fitness challenge\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2916\" height=\"1618\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" style=\"color:transparent;width:100%;height:auto;\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/c84cd209-3a54-40b2-bb78-ed75e92e5d8e.png\" class=\"css-0 e1g79fud0\"\/><\/p>\n<p>YouTube<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"62\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/workouts\/a40218848\/progressive-overload\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-vars-ga-outbound-link=\"https:\/\/www.womenshealthmag.com\/uk\/fitness\/workouts\/a40218848\/progressive-overload\/\" data-vars-ga-ux-element=\"Hyperlink\" data-vars-ga-call-to-action=\"Progressive load\" data-node-id=\"62.0\" class=\"body-link css-1e57p3n emevuu60\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Progressive load<\/a> \u2013 the focus of laying a slight incremental increase in training stress on top of another, session after session, week after week, so you continue to improve \u2013 is an essential factor behind muscle and strength growth. It lightly damages your muscles, which forces your body to lay down more muscle tissue, which means they become stronger. When you start progressively overloading depends on various factors, including your base fitness level, injury history and more. For Susie, she began adding weight to her exercises from week two.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"66\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">\u2018This week (week two) is progress week, so that means that we&#8217;re trying to do heavier weights than we did the week before, or if we couldn&#8217;t finish the exercise we&#8217;re trying to finish the exercise, or if we didn&#8217;t have any weight then we&#8217;re trying to add weight. I added weight onto my Bulgarian split squats and I managed to do those. She struggled to focus on form when training alone<img draggable=\"true\" alt=\"fitness challenge\" title=\"fitness challenge\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2910\" height=\"1618\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" style=\"color:transparent;width:100%;height:auto;\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/a34ab8c0-9c49-4110-83a9-9d63042f138b.png\" class=\"css-0 e1g79fud0\"\/>YouTube<\/p>\n<p>When Susie wasn&#8217;t able to make her online fitness sessions, she would try to train with friends in order to monitor her technique<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"76\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Performing exercises with the correct technique is crucial for strength and muscle growth \u2013 without it, you won&#8217;t be loading the right muscles or instigating the adaptations needed for them to get stronger. Knowing whether you&#8217;re doing them correctly or not can be difficult without a coach, which Susie found for herself. <\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"80\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">\u2018I didn&#8217;t make it to my Stronger by B online session this morning, and I find the only issue is that when I go to the gym by myself, I don&#8217;t keep slow and controlled like Bianca tells me to do, like \u201cSusie, that form right there is nasty, stop that right now.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"84\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Try filming yourself or ask a friend to film and compare your form to our official instructions for each relevant strength exercise.<\/p>\n<p>5. Ditching the \u2018all or nothing\u2019 mindset helped her stay committed<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"89\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">Setting yourself unrealistic, unsustainable and intimidating goals can hinder you hitting them. This is something Susie experienced in the past, and recognising that shorter workouts were just as effective meant she felt capable of sticking to them \u2013 even on busy days.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"93\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">\u2018I got the quickest workout done this morning because I woke up late and I have stuff to do today. So, this is your reminder that even if you only have time for a quick workout, it\u2019s better than not moving your body at all. I think the main thing that helped me stick to my new routine was not having an \u2018all or nothing\u2019 mindset anymore.\u2019 <\/p>\n<p>Susie&#8217;s results<img draggable=\"true\" alt=\"fitness challenge\" title=\"fitness challenge\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"2902\" height=\"1620\" decoding=\"async\" data-nimg=\"1\" style=\"color:transparent;width:100%;height:auto;\"   src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/510812dc-0944-4ef2-8fdc-ef61d79771b8.png\" class=\"css-0 e1g79fud0\"\/>YouTube<\/p>\n<p>While Susie did notice physical changes in her body during the challenge, she says the biggest change was how confident she felt in her body<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"99\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">While Susie noticed a significant improvement in her strength, the mental effects had the biggest impact: \u2018I started this challenge wanting to fall in love with fitness again; fall in love with weight training and make it a habit that I stuck to \u2013 and I\u2019ve done that.<\/p>\n<p data-journey-content=\"true\" data-node-id=\"103\" class=\"css-6wxqfj emevuu60\">\u2018I&#8217;m starting to love my early morning workout routine even though I absolutely want to die when my alarm goes off in the morning.
