Sustainable buildings are a practical way to run a more efficient business. At JPMorganChase, we strive to increase efficiency, lower costs, and reduce waste throughout our global real estate portfolio, which supports more than 300,000 employees operating in 66 countries.<\/p>\n
From our corporate offices \u2013 including our new Manhattan headquarters \u2013 to Chase branches and data centers, we aim to create healthy, efficient, and responsible spaces for our employees, customers, and communities. By integrating advanced design features \u2013 such as enhanced ventilation, optimized lighting, smart temperature controls, and responsibly sourced materials \u2013 we can support comfort and well-being while managing the environmental footprint of our buildings and reducing emissions.<\/p>\n
Corporate offices: designing for efficiency and well-being<\/p>\n
Across our corporate footprint, we have continued to scale sustainability in measurable ways. In 2024, our efforts led to more than 1 million square feet of our real estate portfolio meeting green building certifications globally. We are also prioritizing electric equipment in new kitchen installations and future builds \u2013 another step in embedding efficiency into everyday operations.<\/p>\n
Our approach includes how we source power, too. Since 2020, we have sourced renewable electricity for our global electric power needs through on-site solar installations at our commercial and retail locations, as well as the purchase of renewable electricity through long-term power purchase agreements and applicable Energy Attribute Certificates. These initiatives can help support lower-emission power sources and reduce energy costs. At our Polaris campus in Columbus, Ohio, on-site solar is contributing meaningfully<\/a> to campus energy needs: we installed nearly 7,700 solar modules on the building\u2019s rooftop and more than 32,000 solar panel carports in the campus parking lots. The panels are able to meet 75 percent of the building\u2019s electricity needs, making it one of the largest commercial offices to utilize renewable energy systems.<\/p>\n Another example is our new global headquarters at 270 Park Avenue \u2013 Manhattan\u2019s largest all-electric tower<\/a> \u2013 which opened in October of 2025<\/a>. Designed with innovative features to conserve energy, reduce emissions, improve air quality, and enhance employee well-being, the building reflects the idea that sustainability and a high-performing workplace can go hand in hand.<\/p>\n Our upscaling efforts have also had benefits for the surrounding communities. For example, as part of the renovation of our 383 Madison Avenue office, we donated<\/a> more than $250,000 worth of essential kitchen equipment to City Harvest, which is being distributed to food pantries and soup kitchens throughout New York City.<\/p>\n
