\n\tKim Petras <\/a>is zooming into her next era with the release of \u201cNeed for Speed\u201d and its high-octane music video on Wednesday (April 22).<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile singing about her fast-paced lifestyle and the pressures of matching the nonstop demands of pop stardom, the star opens the visual by walking through a mansion as all of her belongings are seemingly repossessed. A message from \u201cLabel\u201d pops up and tells her that she\u2019s \u201cbroke,\u201d leading her to cheekily hold up different products one after another for purposefully shameless brand promo. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMy label yelling in my ear\/ \u2018Cause they love the money\/ And they want it now,\u201d she sings on the track before playing a round of poker, unwisely betting her 2023 best pop duo\/group performance Grammy for Sam Smith collaboration \u201cUnholy\u201d and losing it. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe video closes with Petras driving a convertible off a cliff, straight past signs reading, \u201cFlop\u201d and \u201cYour career is over.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a statement, the musician described the track as being about the \u201cconstant push for more hits and more success, which ultimately erases your personality until your only personality trait is being so busy and fast that you basically don\u2019t have a life.\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n

\n\tArriving ahead of Petras\u2019 highly anticipated new album Detour, \u201cNeed for Speed\u201d was released under her independent label BunHead Records. It comes after the musician called out<\/a> Republic Records in January for giving her \u201cno support\u201d for months, publicly requesting for the label to drop her so that she could go independent in posts on X.<\/p>\n
