Veteran actor Annu Kapoor, who drew online backlash in 2025 over his
\nremarks on Tamannaah Bhatia\u2019s body while discussing the Stree 2 song Aaj
\nKi Raat, has now addressed the controversy in a recent interview,
\nclarifying his previous comment. <\/p>\n
Speaking to Siddharth Kannan in a recent podcast appearance, Kapoor said
\nhe had suggested the Stree 2 song Aaj Ki Raat as a \u201cgoogly-type\u201d
\nchoice for contestants during his shows in the US last year, praising its
\ncomposition and noting that the track\u2019s structure made it challenging to
\nperform.<\/p>\n
He added that after watching the video, he appreciated Tamannaah\u2019s
\ndancing, clarifying that this was the extent of his comment.<\/p>\n
In an interview with YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra in 2025, a scene from
\nTamannaah\u2019s song Aaj Ki Raat was shown. When asked about the song and
\nhis admiration for the actress, Annu Kapoor said, \u201cMashallah, kya dudhiya badan
\nhai\u201d (\u201cOh my God, what milky body she has\u201d).<\/p>\n
The comment quickly drew backlash, with netizens slamming Kapoor for
\nbeing inappropriate and objectifying the actress.<\/p>\n
Addressing the backlash, Kapoor said the controversy escalated due to
\nthe wording of his remark. He added that while some criticised and abused him,
\nothers noted that the term \u201cmilky body\u201d is commonly used in English.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you say it in English, it\u2019s fine, but in Hindi it becomes a problem.
\nAbuse in our own language hits harder, but if you say the same thing in
\nEnglish, no one has an issue. If I had said \u2018milky body\u2019, there would have been
\nno problem. What age would she be\u201428, 30? My children are that age. Just
\nbecause I said \u2018dudhiya badan\u2019, people started calling me an old man and
\ntrolling me.\u201d<\/p>\n
Kapoor further said he stands by his words and is ready to apologise if
\nrequired. \u201cIf she asks me whether I said it, I will say yes, I did. If you felt
\nbad, I will touch your feet. If a 71-year-old man touches her feet, what will
\nshe say? Nothing, because I am not doing it with any wrong intention,\u201d Kapoor
\nadded. <\/p>\n
Tamannaah has often been referred to as a \u2018milky beauty\u2019 for her radiant
\nlooks and dance performances.<\/p>\n
Last year, during a press event for Odela 2 in Hyderabad,
\nTamannaah was asked about her casting and the \u201cmilky beauty\u201d label.<\/p>\n
