The acting attorney general said investigators were speaking with witnesses who know the suspect and were looking at \u201csome writings,\u201d but later said, at the present moment, investigators have found no connection to any \u201cpolicy, directive of President Trump, or Iran, or anything else that we\u2019re doing in this country, but we\u2019re looking into it.\u201d However, Blanche did say the Justice Department believes the suspect \u201cset out to target folks that work in the administration, likely including the president,\u201d but also said he didn\u2019t want to \u201cget ahead\u201d of the ongoing investigation.
