\n\tIn 2024, British knitwear<\/a> and ready-to-wear label Hades released its first collaborative capsule collection with famed actress Tilda Swinton. Now the punk-tinged, counterculture-inspired brand\u2019s cofounders and sisters Cassie and Isabel Holland have released the second act to their Tilda Swinton x Hades line with a six-piece capsule titled \u201cNotes From the Precipice.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cTilda, who calls Scotland home, began as a customer of Hades before reaching out to us directly. A correspondence turned into a collaboration<\/a>, with months of back-and-forth to finalize the designs and creative imagery,\u201d the duo told WWD of their initial collaboration<\/a> process. From there, Swinton traveled to Hades\u2019 manufacturing factory in Scotland to meet with the craftspeople who created the knitted styles across both collaborative capsules.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe were thrilled people embraced the eccentricity of the first collection \u2014 scissors, hands and weird and wonderful slogans,\u201d the duo said of the impetus for collaborating with Swinton again.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cShe champions the strange and encourages curiosity in a way that propelled our creative endeavors across Hades; it was I think inevitable that we would come together once again to craft more pieces,\u201d they added. \u201cTilda\u2019s interests and her own cultural creations across avant-garde art, film and activism are broad and offer ample inspiration for us as designers.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile their first collaboration celebrated Swinton\u2019s filmography, the second pushes it in a new direction, with pieces designed to evoke an \u201cexploration of the times we are living in,\u201d they said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe capsule directly pays tribute to Swinton\u2019s wisdom and words, as seen through the 100 percent cotton skirts and dress featuring the screen-printed text, in eco-friendly water-based ink, excerpted from her poem \u201cNotes For Radical Living,\u201d and 2025 Berlinale speech. The duo noted that Swinton herself suggested the designs for the knitted frock and skirt, which were constructed by the craftspeople the actress met in Hawick, Scotland, in 2024.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tIn addition, the capsule features 100 percent cotton, light and loose-fitting jumpers with a \u201cMake Friends With Chaos\u201d slogan alongside new slogan-adorned, colorful, ruffle-trimmed handbags in deadstock fabric.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe spirit of Hades is a beautiful thing: vivacious and witty and enthusiastically countercultural, while simultaneously dedicated to the highest possible quality of traditionally made artisanal pieces in the heart of the Scottish Borders, my familial home,\u201d Swinton said in a statement. \u201cIt has been my sincere pleasure to come to know Cassie and Isabel and to have been asked to play with them in this happy work. I see for them an ever-brighter horizon ahead and it is my honor to call them colleagues.\u201d<\/p>\n
