Coronation Street star James Cartwright has a pretty busy schedule now he’s left the cobbles behind, with his exit being confirmed after Theo Silverton was revealed to be the victim in the ITV soap’s ‘Murder Week’.<\/p>\n

After months of teasing its latest murder mystery, the soap finally revealed that the villain’s body was the one discovered by Betsy Swain on the day of Lisa and Carla’s wedding, with the abuser being found dead in an alleyway.<\/p>\n

As it is yet to be revealed exactly what happened to Theo, including who’s responsible for his death<\/a>, Cartwright’s stint on the soap seems to be done and dusted \u2014 though we wouldn’t rule out a ghost appearance of some sort.<\/p>\n

Speaking exclusively with Soap Scoop<\/a>, the Inside Soap podcast, the actor teased his future projects. This includes a return to BBC Radio 4’s long-running soap The Archers, in which he’s played policeman Harrison Burns since 2014.<\/p>\n

“I’ve done that for 12 years, so they very kindly gave me the time off to go and do [Corrie], but then I go back to Ambridge, which is a much quieter place,” the star explained, adding that The Archers has “a slightly different” tone compared to Corrie.<\/p>\n

“I think the most dramatic [thing was] the case of the missing bunting… It’s high stakes, but a slightly different vibe than domestic violence and murder,” he said. “I go back to that and I’ve just been asked to do a play, which is something I’ve always wanted to do.”<\/p>\n

The actor elaborated that he’s set to portray the lead in a William Shakespeare play “at the end of the year”, but remained tight-lipped about which one of the Bard’s works he’ll be taking on.<\/p>\n
