NASA<\/a> Administrator Jared Isaacman praised the Artemis II<\/a> team for their efforts in maintaining the United States\u2019s<\/a> presence on the moon and empowering future generations.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe undertake these great missions of science and discovery, but we can bring the world together, and we can inspire the next generation. I mean, I can\u2019t imagine how many kids are going to dress up as astronauts for Halloween.\u201d Isaacman said on Fox News\u2019s America\u2019s Newsroom on Thursday.<\/p>\n

President Donald Trump<\/a> hosted the crew at the White House<\/a> on Wednesday, where he said there was a \u201cgood shot\u201d of returning to the moon again during his second term.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Artemis II launched on April 1<\/a>. The mission took nine days, and the crew returned on April 10. This marked a key step toward a return to space<\/a> and advanced a pivotal step for future possible missions to Mars.<\/p>\n

Isaacman emphasized the scale and significance of these NASA missions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you are 25 years or younger in this world, you\u2019ve never lived at a time where you didn\u2019t have an American<\/a> astronaut orbiting above you. But I\u2019ll tell you, the next step is to go out further,\u201d Isaacman said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are building an enduring presence on the moon.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the goal is to pick up where Apollo 17 left off, and to build a moon base<\/a>, which could \u201cunlock a lunar economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Isaacman also noted that a feeling of pride was instilled in Americans, as they \u201clook up at the night sky and imagine the possibilities.\u201d<\/p>\n
