Joe Russo, one of the co-directors of \u201cAvengers: Doomsday,\u201d is someone who is well aware of the concern about movie spoilers online but says spoiler culture can \u201cbecome a little over-policed\u201d.<\/p>\n

Russo and his brother Anthony return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the upcoming two \u201cAvengers\u201d films filmed back-to-back.<\/p>\n

So far, the production has gone relatively smoothly, and while talk about the film has remained high with new rumours about the story and characters swirling every other day (some of which has been subsequently confirmed), a lot of it still feels highly speculative at best.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Metro<\/a>, Russo was asked about his thoughts on spoilers and how filmmakers \u2013 himself included \u2013 go to great lengths to preserve a film\u2019s secrets. He says that\u2019s with good reason, but maybe some fans are being too cautious and shouldn\u2019t worry about the various things they\u2019ve heard so far:<\/p>\n

\u201cOn one hand, audiences want to be surprised, and that\u2019s part of what makes the theatrical experience exciting. On the other hand, it can become a little over-policed, where people are anxious about engaging with anything.<\/p>\n

We design these films to unfold in a certain way, and we want audiences to feel those moments as intended. But at the same time, you can\u2019t control everything. You have to focus on making something that holds up beyond the initial surprise.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chief Creative Officer of Russo\u2019s AGBO production company Angela Russo-Otstot adds that: \u201cThere\u2019s some serious lockdown at our company. And it\u2019s a very limited group that are across the different things that Anthony and Joe are aware of. We may think we know things and we\u2019re wrong!\u201d<\/p>\n
