Never miss a story \u2014 sign up for PEOPLE’s free daily newsletter<\/a> to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer\u200b\u200b, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.<\/p>\n “I zoomed in with my camera and could see a jar on its head, figured I had to help,\u201d Judge told local outlet NBC10 Philadelphia, adding that the baby fox’s mother was just a few feet away.<\/p>\n Working as a team, Judge held the animal, who he said walked right up to him, as Kavana carefully removed the jar from its head.<\/p>\n \u201cI just twist it, once the ears popped out, it was free,\u201d he recalled. \u201cSo cute.\u201d<\/p>\n While the duo later returned to the park in hopes of finding the baby fox’s family, they haven’t had any luck so far. Still, they are encouraging nearby residents and visitors to avoid leaving food and trash behind, as it can be harmful to wildlife.<\/p>\n “I saw the fox running down the canal with the jar on its head,” Judge, who has worked in the department for 11 years, told Patch<\/a>. “I called it and it just came up to me. I was shocked that the fox did.”<\/p>\n “I never came across anything like this,” he added, noting that he’d previously helped free some ducks trapped in a drainage outlet. “It was struggling. It took two of us to get the jar off. It feels good. I’m an animal lover.”<\/p>\n
