\n NHS West and North London Integrated Care Board (ICB) has teamed up with the others across the capital on a new campaign.\n<\/p>\n
\n Unused medicines are estimated to cost the NHS around \u00a3300 million each year.\n<\/p>\n
\n A large amount of waste comes from repeat prescriptions, often when patients continue to order medicines they no longer need or already have enough of at home.\n<\/p>\n
\n Patients are encouraged to check what they have at home first, as only ordering what you need:\n<\/p>\n
helps keep you safe, as medicines can go out of date<\/p>\n
helps prevent shortages, so medicines are available for everyone<\/p>\n
reduces waste and protects the environment<\/p>\n
\n Unused medicines can be returned to pharmacies for safe disposal.\n<\/p>\n
\n GP practices, pharmacies and community groups will be sharing tips and support throughout the campaign.\n<\/p>\n
