Hulu<\/a> is a great streaming service <\/a>for building your next binge-watch. It has hit original shows, and it also features a range of shows from Disney-owned networks. That means shows from FX, ABC<\/a>, 20th Television (formerly owned by Fox) and more, all on one streamer. That’s something not every streaming service can replicate.<\/p>\n

So much to watch can be overwhelming, though. Especially when deciding which show to start binging first. Don’t worry; I’ve put together a list of three new shows perfect for adding to your weekend watchlist. First up is “The Testaments,” a sequel to “The Handmaid’s Tale.” It is already deep into its first season, with seven episodes ready to binge. Then there’s the hit Korean romantic comedy “Perfect Crown,” which has been dropping two new episodes every weekend since early April. Finally, there’s “The Rookie.” This ABC procedural is now one of the network’s longest-running shows, and just wrapped up season 8. That’s a lot of Nathan Fillion in a police uniform to binge.<\/p>\n

Her life gets flipped on its head, though, when she’s tasked with helping Canadian convert, Daisy (Lucy Halliday). As she gets Daisy accustomed to her new home, she comes to realize not everything is what it seems in Gilead.<\/p>\n

Why you should watch it: “The Handmaid’s Tale” was a massive hit for Hulu, and early reviews suggest they got the formula right again with this sequel. It currently has a 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Genre: Korean romantic comedy<\/p>\n

What’s it about? Sung Hui-ju (IU) is from a wealthy family, but she remains a commoner and one born out of wedlock at that. But she sees an opportunity when she meets Prince I-an (Byeon Woo-seok), who has legitimacy but nobody to share it with.<\/p>\n

Why you should watch it: If you like K-dramas, then this one about a royal romance in an alternate history seems to have potential. Just definitely opt for the subtitles; the English dub in the trailer looks awful.<\/p>\n

What’s it about? “The Rookie” stars Nathan Fillion as John Nolan, a 45-year-old newly divorced man from Pennsylvania. He’s looking for a new direction in life, and when he helps stop a local bank robbery, he decides to become a law enforcement officer. In season 1, he moved to Los Angeles because the LAPD is one of the few places that will let a 45-year-old become a rookie officer. Now, he’s the one training rookies.<\/p>\n

Why you should watch it: This show is a hit, with eight seasons under its belt and a ninth on the way. It shows no sign of stopping, even with show star Nathan Fillion now an integral part of the DCU<\/a>. Catch up on the first eight seasons now before season 9 arrives in the fall.<\/p>\n
