\n\tThe longtime attorney and human rights advocate turned to the late Lee Alexander McQueen<\/a>\u2018s fall 2007 collection for her red carpet attire. The dress was crafted with allover shimmering gold sequins and featured an Art Deco-style design of sinuous lines and sharp angles for a contemporary appeal along with its timeless silhouette.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe maxidress included a V-shaped neckline with short, capped sleeves, a column silhouette and hem that nearly grazed the red carpet \u2014 were it not for Clooney\u2019s coordinated metallic gold pointed-toe pumps.<\/p>\n

\n\tClooney\u2019s fall 2007 collection debuted as part of Paris Fashion Week back in March 2007. While the collection was not explicitly an homage to Hollywood actress Elizabeth Taylor<\/a>, several of the aesthetic choices for the models and designs harkened back to the two-time Oscar-winning actress\u2019 career.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe gilded gold dress Clooney wore for Monday\u2019s event in London evoked Taylor\u2019s 1963 film \u201cCleopatra.\u201d From the dress\u2019 ornate gold design to the model\u2019s makeup and hairstyling, the entire look was reminiscent of costumes worn by the actress.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe fall 2007 ready-to-wear curation was titled \u201cIn Memory of Elizabeth Howe, Salem, 1692\u201d and included several visual motifs and references to the Salem Witch trials. <\/p>\n

\n\tShortly after McQueen<\/a>\u2019s death in 2010, designer Sarah Burton <\/a>assumed the role of creative director. She departed the British luxury fashion house in 2023 and was appointed to the same role with Givenchy in 2024.<\/p>\n

\n\tMonday\u2019s celebrations at London\u2019s Royal Albert Hall commemorates the 50th anniversary of The King\u2019s Trust, a charity founded by King Charles III in 1976.
