Since then the team has achieved a podium, a Julius Baer Pole Position and a victory in Mexico City, but that\u2019s all come from one side of the garage: Nick Cassidy. For Vergne, it\u2019s been a very different first eight rounds. But then again, I feel that the points don’t really show the true level of performance of our team. Only points matter though and excuses are not something I like to use.<\/p>\n \u201cI’m not finding myself making any excuses, for me or for the team, we simply have to do a better job; deliver better races, better weekends, and start scoring some strong points.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking ahead of the Monaco E-Prix double-header, Vergne was sat next to Nick Cassidy<\/a> who has had a fantastic start to his time at Citro\u00ebn.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI mean, Nick’s done it,\u201d he says, pointing to his teammate, \u201cobviously, it’s not because he’s next to me, but I think he\u2019s probably the best driver in this generation of Formula E. And he certainly knows how to do the magical stuff at the right moment, which I’ve not been able to do this year.\u201d<\/p>\n Vergne made the switch to Citro\u00ebn after a long stint with DS PENSKE, but the two teams do share the STELLANTIS powertrains.\u00a0<\/p>\n STANDINGS: Who is leading the 2025\/26 World Championship right now?<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cI’ve been for a very long time with the same people but I have a certain way of doing the races that clearly doesn’t work this year, so I think both the team and myself came to the realisation that some things need to be changed in the way we approach the races and how we communicate and how we take decisions.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cI think we’re doing that. I think it’s not a bad thing to be in that struggling position. It makes us work harder. It makes us find solutions, and all of the work that we’re doing now will pay off one day.
