Eurovision<\/a> has confirmed the official UK Jury spokesperson ahead of this weekend’s finale. The coveted slot traditionally sees a big star read out the results of the UK’s vote, with the likes of Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Joanna Lumley, Catherine Tate and AJ Odudu doing the honours in recent years.<\/p>\n

It has now been announced that Strictly Come Dancing and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK icon La Voix has signed-up for this year, becoming the UK’s first-ever ‘spokesqueen’ for Saturday’s Grand Final.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m absolutely over the moon to be announcing the UK Jury scores at Eurovision 2026,” the star said.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s the one night where sequins are en masse, key changes are compulsory, and absolutely anything can happen \u2013 so naturally I feel right at home. I\u2019ll do my best to behave\u2026 but no promises!”<\/p>\n

La Voix is fulfilling a childhood dream as the spokesperson \u2013 and we cannot wait to see what brilliant quips she has in store.<\/p>\n

This year’s Eurovision is taking place in Vienna, with Semi-Finals having taken place this week to determine the finalists. France, Germany, Italy and the UK are automatically through, while Austria also qualifies by default after winning last year.<\/p>\n

The UK is hoping to prove victorious this year with entry Look Mum No Computer<\/a>, who will perform his track ‘Eins, Zwei, Drei’ in Saturday’s Final.<\/p>\n

There have been some changes to the Eurovision voting system this year<\/a>, which are aimed to “strengthen trust, transparency and audience engagement”.<\/p>\n

Eurovision 2026 has been surrounded in controversy over Israel’s ongoing participation amid the war in Gaza, with countries including Ireland, Spain<\/a>, The Netherlands, Iceland and Slovenia<\/a> deciding to not participate in the competition this year as a result.<\/p>\n

The Eurovision Grand Final will air on Saturday from 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.<\/p>\n
