{"id":443870,"date":"2026-05-15T23:39:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-15T23:39:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/443870\/"},"modified":"2026-05-15T23:39:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-15T23:39:12","slug":"openai-keeps-shuffling-its-executives-in-bid-to-win-ai-agent-battle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/443870\/","title":{"rendered":"OpenAI keeps shuffling its executives in bid to win AI agent battle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">OpenAI announced yet another reorganization Friday, consolidating certain areas and making company president Greg Brockman the official lead of all things product.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">In a memo viewed by The Verge, Brockman wrote that since OpenAI\u2019s product strategy for this year is to go all-in on AI agents, the company is combining its products to \u201cinvest in a single agentic platform and to merge ChatGPT and Codex into one unified agentic experience for all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">To do this, the company is making a suite of org chart changes, although it\u2019s still operating under <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/906965\/openais-agi-boss-is-taking-a-leave-of-absence\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">some of the same ones from last month<\/a>. That\u2019s when AGI boss Fidji Simo went on medical leave and OpenAI announced that Brockman would be in charge of product strategy and CSO Jason Kwon, CFO Sarah Friar, and CRO Denise Dresser would take control of business operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">It\u2019s all part of OpenAI\u2019s recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/ai-artificial-intelligence\/908513\/the-vibes-are-off-at-openai\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">strategic shift<\/a> to focus on key revenue drivers like coding and enterprise and stop pouring resources into \u201cside quests\u201d ahead of its potential IPO later this year and amid investor pressure to turn a profit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1ymtmqpi _17nnmdy1 _17nnmdy0 _1xwtict1\">In Simo\u2019s continued absence, Brockman\u2019s role leading product strategy is now official, as well as the company\u2019s \u201cscaling\u201d arm. Under Brockman will be four different pillars. The first is core product and platform, led by Thibault Sottiaux, who has been OpenAI\u2019s engineering lead for Codex, and the second is critical enterprise industries, led by ChatGPT head Nick Turley. Third is the consumer pillar, such as health, commerce, and personal finance, which will be led by Ashley Alexander, who has been its healthcare products VP.
