Millions of Australians tuned into this past weekend\u2019s 2026 Eurovision Song Contest<\/a>, where Delta Goodrem made her nation proud.<\/p>\n

SBS confirmed on Monday (May 18th), that the total TV national reach across the network\u2019s live and prime time broadcasts of the Vienna-hosted event was over 3.27 million Australians, with an SBS on Demand audience reach of 538,000. This figure was a 45.2 per cent increase in total TV reach from last year\u2019s viewership.<\/p>\n

Sunday\u2019s grand final achieved a total TV national reach of 1.21 million.<\/p>\n

Despite one of the year\u2019s best performances, Goodrem took Australia to fourth place, only behind Romania, Israel and the winner, Bulgaria \u2013 Dara with \u201cBangaranga\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom showstopping vocals and spectacular staging to unforgettable performances that had audiences talking around the world, this year\u2019s Eurovision Song Contest once again delivered all the joy, drama and excitement fans have come to love,\u201d SBS\u2019 Head of Unscripted, Joseph Maxwell, said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s fantastic to see Delta Goodrem\u2019s mesmerising performance lift this year\u2019s ratings and take the broadcast to spectacular new heights.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prior to the public vote, Australia finished in second place at 165 points, only behind Bulgaria on 204 points. Israel, Armenia and Romania were the only three countries of the 35 to give their 12 voting points to Australia.<\/p>\n

Appearing on a recent episode\u00a0of the\u00a0Rolling Stone Uncut\u00a0podcast<\/a>, Goodrem discussed representing Australia at the iconic event.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo have everyone come together for an iconic [event]\u2026 where you\u2019ve had ABBA, Celine Dion, Olivia Newton-John, M\u00e5neskin, just phenomenal artists that have been a part of music all these years, for me, in other moments it might not have been right,\u201d she said. \u201cIn this moment, I was like\u2026 what a blessing to be able to have that moment in time to go up there.<\/p>\n
