{"id":449674,"date":"2026-05-19T16:27:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-19T16:27:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/449674\/"},"modified":"2026-05-19T16:27:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T16:27:08","slug":"somaliland-to-open-embassy-in-jerusalem-israel-to-open-one-in-hargeisa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/449674\/","title":{"rendered":"Somaliland to open embassy in Jerusalem, Israel to open one in Hargeisa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Embassy of the Republic of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/international\/article-893426\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Somaliland<\/a> will be based in Jerusalem, the African country&#8217;s new Ambassador to Israel, Mohamed Hagi announced on X\/Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">&#8220;The Embassy will be opened soon,&#8221; Hagi wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Israel, in turn, will be opening an embassy in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-894180\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hargeisa<\/a>, he added.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Both countries&#8217; opening of their respective embassies reflects &#8220;growing friendship, mutual respect, and strategic cooperation between our two peoples,&#8221; Hagi said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Foreign Minister Gideon Sa&#8217;ar reacted to the announcement on X, thanking the Somaliland president for his decision to establish the embassy in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">&#8220;The opening of the embassy in Jerusalem will be another significant step in strengthening relations between our countries and nations.
