Jimmy Kimmel torched Elon Musk after the Tesla CEO had a meltdown over Christopher Nolan casting Lupita Nyong\u2019o<\/a> as Helen of Troy in \u201cThe Odyssey<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The comedian weighed in on Musk\u2019s outrage during Tuesday\u2019s monologue for \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!,\u201d where he suggested Musk \u201cstay in [his] lane\u201d after bemoaning the fact that Helen of Troy was being played by a Black woman.<\/p>\n

\u201cElon Musk is now attacking Christopher Nolan, the film director, for the way he cast the movie \u2018The Odyssey,\u2019\u201d Kimmel said. \u201cHe\u2019s upset because Christopher Nolan hired Lupita Nyong\u2019o to play a character he believes should be played by a white woman.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kimmel then read out Musk\u2019s X post, in which he claimed Nolan \u201cdesecrated the Odyssey so that he would be eligible for an Academy Award.\u201d As the late night host highlighted, Musk then followed this up with the following rant: \u201cWho specifically is the a\u2013hole who added DEI lies to Academy Awards eligibility instead of it just being about making the best movie?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a good question. While we\u2019re at it, who specifically is the a\u2013hole who thought this was a cool design for a truck?\u201d Kimmel hit back. \u201cI mean, stay in your lane.\u201d<\/p>\n

As Kimmel went on, he noted that Musk wasn\u2019t alone in his stance, as it had become \u201ca thing now.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cRob Finnerty from Newsmax \u2014 this guy\u2019s a beauty \u2014 he was so upset he devoted a whole segment to it,\u201d Kimmel said before playing footage of Finnerty\u2019s broadcast, in which he confidently declared \u201cHelen of Troy was not Black.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, here\u2019s something that might surprise you, Rob. Helen of Troy was also not real,\u201d Kimmel ripped. \u201c\u2018The Odyssey\u2019 is a mythical poem. There was no Helen of Troy. She was mythical, like Santa Claus or election fraud \u2026 It doesn\u2019t matter what color a myth is.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cAnd if you really want to get into it, Helen of Troy was half bird. Helen was the daughter of Zeus \u2014 and these, Rob, are not photographs, these are drawings \u2014 who disguised himself as a swan so he could mate with a human woman who then laid an egg and out hatched Helen of Troy, who, again, was not a real person. This is not history. This is made up. She was pretend. So it makes no difference to anyone but crazy angry people what color she was.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before moving on, Kimmel joked that people should really be \u201cmad at the loser they cast to play Odysseus,\u201d referencing his decades-long \u201cfeud\u201d with Matt Damon.<\/p>\n
