King Charles suffered an unexpected royal dump during a visit to Northern Ireland, courtesy of a seagull flying overhead.<\/p>\n
Charles was visiting the southeast coastal town of New Castle on Wednesday (May 20) \u2013 the second day of a three-day visit with Queen Camilla \u2013 when a passing bird unloaded his bowels from above.<\/p>\n
Witnesses said the seagull\u2019s poop hit the back of the King\u2019s jacket, its splatter also striking those around him.<\/p>\n
The royal was quick to brush off the incident, declining an offer for a change of clothes before going on to greet more well-wishers. In video shared online, the poop stain is visible as Charles continued to shake hands and interact with members of the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt least it didn\u2019t land on my head!\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n
Irene Marting, who witnessed the King\u2019s seagull encounter, said Charles was quick to compose himself, adding that he didn\u2019t let the poop spoil his mood.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing hit by a seagull, it\u2019s supposed to be good luck,\u201d Marting added. \u201cWe\u2019re so thrilled he\u2019s come to Northern Ireland to see us and it\u2019s really nice to see him in Newcastle.\u201d<\/p>\n
The incident followed an earlier stop at a food pantry, where the king grabbed a roll of toilet paper in what is now an uncanny moment of foreshadowing.<\/p>\n
\u201cVery important,\u201d he said of the paper product.<\/p>\n
The King and Queen were enjoying separate schedules on Wednesday after spending the day together in Belfast on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
