British author J.K. Rowling<\/a> recently had scathing criticism for the arguably the biggest actress from the movies her books inspired.<\/p>\n

Rowling, 60, posted a lengthy statement to X (formerly Twitter) on Monday morning that took aim at former \u201cHarry Potter\u201d star Emma Watson<\/a>, who has been critical of Rowling\u2019s anti-transgender rhetoric<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cLike other people who\u2019ve never experienced adult life uncushioned by wealth and fame, Emma has so little experience of real life she\u2019s ignorant of how ignorant she is,\u201d Rowling said about the 35-year-old Watson on X.<\/p>\n

Watson, who played Hermoine Granger in the franchise\u2019s film series, shared last week on Jay Shetty\u2019s \u201cOn Purpose\u201d podcast<\/a> that she wished to make amends with Rowling after criticizing Rowling\u2019s anti-transgender remarks in 2020.<\/p>\n

Rowling didn\u2019t sound interested in making amends. <\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t a multimillionaire at fourteen. I lived in poverty while writing the book that made Emma famous,\u201d Rowling\u2019s post read. \u201cI therefore understand from my own life experience what the trashing of women\u2019s rights in which Emma has so enthusiastically participated means to women and girls without her privileges.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rowling previously said that she would never forgive Watson and \u201cHarry Potter\u201d co-star Daniel Radcliffe<\/a> for their response to her anti-transgender remarks. Many actors from the franchise have distanced themselves from Rowling<\/a> for the same reason. <\/p>\n

The author claimed the Watson and Radcliffe\u2019s opposing stances fueled \u201cdeath, rape and torture threats\u201d at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cEmma is rightly free to disagree with me and indeed to discuss her feelings about me in public \u2014 but I have the same right, and I\u2019ve finally decided to exercise it,\u201d Rowling wrote.<\/p>\n
