Atom Computing signed a Letter of Intent with the U.S. Department of Commerce for $100 million in proposed funding to accelerate development of fault-tolerant quantum computing systems. <\/p>\n

The funding would support Atom Computing\u2019s neutral-atom quantum platform through engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain initiatives aimed at scaling utility-scale quantum systems. <\/p>\n

The announcement reflects growing U.S. government investment in domestic quantum computing infrastructure and advanced computing technologies.<\/p>\n

PRESS RELEASE \u2014 Atom Computing, a leader in scalable, neutral-atom quantum computing, today announced it has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the U.S. Department of Commerce to receive $100 million of funding to accelerate development of fault-tolerant, utility-scale quantum computing. This announcement marks a significant step in the government\u2019s support of American efforts to advance critical quantum technologies and strengthen the United States\u2019 leadership in next-generation computing.<\/p>\n

As global competition for quantum leadership intensifies, the LOI from the Department of Commerce demonstrates that the U.S. Government is committed to the long-term success of foundational quantum technologies.<\/p>\n

Atom Computing\u2019s unique approach to quantum computing, utilizing arrays of optically-trapped neutral atoms, is widely recognized as one of the most viable paths to reaching commercial utility. The company has emerged as an industry leader by pioneering the use of this technology for quantum systems and is currently installing the\u00a0world\u2019s first commercial quantum computer with logical qubits<\/a>. Atom also performed on Stage A of DARPA\u2019s Quantum Benchmarking Initiative (QBI) and is currently performing on Stage B, where it is demonstrating its path to utility-scale quantum computing.<\/p>\n
