The Mandarin Oriental group just announced that Mandarin Oriental Lutetia<\/a>, one of its two luxury properties in Paris, will be featured in the upcoming fourth season of Mike White\u2019s hit HBO series, The White Lotus. <\/p>\n This is the third property in France to join the elite group of hotels named to appear in Season 4.<\/p>\n An Inside Look At Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris<\/p>\n A storied property that first opened in 1910, the hotel is located in Paris\u2019 upscale St. Germain-des-Pr\u00e9s neighborhood on the Left Bank, known as a mecca for artists and intellectuals. <\/p>\n Facade of Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris<\/p>\n Mandarin Oriental Group<\/p>\n Originally named Hotel Lutetia, it was founded in 1910 by the same family that created the world\u2019s first luxury department store, Le Bon March\u00e9. Some of the hotel\u2019s earliest visitors included such luminaries as Pablo Picasso, Henry Matisse, Antoine de Saint-Exup\u00e9ry and Josephine Baker. <\/p>\n Like many other grand hotels, it was occupied by Nazi soldiers<\/a> during World War II and later served as a sanctuary for people returned from Europe\u2019s concentration camps.<\/p>\n The five-star hotel <\/a>was lovingly restored in 2018 to preserve its rich history and charm while introducing contemporary refinements. The hotel also holds the title of a Palace hotel, an official rating designating exceptional five-star properties.<\/p>\n The stunning exterior is considered a masterpiece of Art Nouveau and Art Deco design. Its 184 guest rooms are decorated in tasteful beige and blue tones by French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, and include 47 opulent suites, two of which offer private rooftop terraces with views of the Eiffel Tower.<\/p>\n The hotel also has a massive 7500-square-foot spa carved out of stone and marble with an indoor lap pool, hydrotherapy facilities and treatment rooms. <\/p>\n Akasha Spa at Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris<\/p>\n Mandarin Oriental GroupChecking Out Of The Four Seasons<\/p>\n The upcoming season marks a significant shift in choice of accommodations, as it appears the series has \u201cchecked out\u201d of the Four Seasons properties that appeared in all prior seasons. <\/p>\n However, this isn\u2019t the first association between the show and the Mandarin Oriental Group. Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok<\/a> made a memorable cameo appearance as the backdrop for the meeting between Rick (Walter Goggins) and Frank (Sam Rockwell). Variety<\/a> reports that actual filming will begin immediately afterward, recreating the Cannes extravaganza.<\/p>\n Although details are still under wraps, the international film festival is expected to be integral to the plot of the satirical series. There are few better settings to lampoon celebrity and wealth than the French Riviera and the Cannes Film Festival.<\/p>\n \u201cWhite Lotus filming at Cannes is the most White Lotus thing ever,\u201d commented one user on X.<\/p>\n White Lotus Season 4 is slated to air in the first half of 2027, no specific premiere date has been announced for the highly anticipated series. <\/p>\n Locations <\/p>\n Season 4 will transport viewers to the dreamy French Riviera<\/a>; Variety<\/a> was the first outlet to confirm Saint-Tropez as the primary shooting location. The coastal town on the C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur is no stranger to cinema, having served as the setting for such iconic films as God Created Woman, The Swimming Pool, and Bonjour Tristesse in the 50s and 60s. <\/p>\n Cannes, Monaco and Paris will also make appearances,<\/p>\n Cast<\/p>\n Casting for the series is said to be completed, according to The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>.
