Beyond pressures from the Iran war, which stock markets have largely shrugged off, AI is a factor in the divergence. <\/p>\n<p>Traders are all-in on AI, but Americans are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/poll-americans-worry-ai-make-jobs-obsolete-2026-3\" class=\"_linkEmbed_10lxo_29\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">fretting over its impact<\/a> on jobs. \u201cThe stock market on the moon and households in increasing gloom are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/economy\/consumers\/stock-market-consumer-sentiment-af088e87?mod=hp_lead_pos2\" class=\"_linkEmbed_10lxo_29\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">reflecting on the same thing<\/a>,\u201d an economist said: Reduced labor costs may be good for stocks but mean fewer jobs. <\/p>\n<p>US President Donald Trump has heralded the stock gains, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/finance\/us-treasury-rout-tests-washingtons-tolerance-higher-borrowing-costs-2026-05-24\/\" class=\"_linkEmbed_10lxo_29\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">the bond market could put pressure<\/a> on the White House.
