Actor Tanishaa Mukerji opened up about her past relationships and addressed being labelled a “nepo-baby” in the industry. During her appearance on a podcast, the 47-year-old spoke about her breakups with actors Armaan Kohli and Uday Chopra, whil also sharing her views on “outsiders” in Bollywood, saying they are not “loyal” to the industry.<\/p>\n
Mukerji’s viral statements on Pinkvilla’s podcast also included mentions of her brother-in-law Ajay Devgn and sister Kajol.<\/p>\n
Speaking about belonging to a film family, she said, “Why are we being Bollywood bashed constantly? This is something that hurts me. Because I am a Bollywood baby. I love my industry, I love my film fraternity, I love people coming into my film fraternity, people who are born in this fraternity. I love my nepo-babies, if you want to call them that. And I want to know why we are being bashed.”<\/p>\n
The ‘Tango Charlie’ actor claimed that those who don’t belong to film families often work to “take” from Bollywood, while those within the fraternity focus on contributing.<\/p>\n
“When you come from a film family, you think of the film industry first. You\u2019re not somebody who is here to take from the film industry. Yes, you want to be an actor, a director or a producer in this film industry, but you will always think about giving to the film industry. It is about growing the industry,” she explained.<\/p>\n
Mukerji further said, “And somewhere I feel people who come from outside, they come with no loyalty to our film industry. They come to take.”<\/p>\n
Tanishaa Mukerji began dating ‘Jaani Dushman’ actor Armaan Kohli during ‘Bigg Boss 7’. The two dated for over a year before parting ways. In the interview, however, she revealed that her breakup with Uday Chopra impacted her more deeply.<\/p>\n
“Voh itna heartbreak nahi tha (It wasn\u2019t that big heartbreak). Maybe public felt that it was a heartbreak because the media talked about it like that but personally it wasn\u2019t a heartbreak,” she said, recalling her split with Kohli.<\/p>\n
Referring to her ‘Neal ‘n’ Nikki’ co-star, she continued, “I was more heartbroken jab mera Uday (Uday Chopra) ke sath breakup hua. Because we were friends. We were very close and we have known each other for a very long time.”<\/p>\n
Over her career, Tanishaa Mukerji appeared in around 15 films but was unable to make a lasting mark in Bollywood. She is currently working on a Marathi film titled ‘Veer Murarbaji’. The actor also appeared as the first runner-up on ‘Bigg Boss 7’, participated in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7’, and featured on ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11’.<\/p>\n
