Halle Berry<\/a> will soon be celebrating her 60th birthday<\/a> \u2014\u00a0and she’s making sure everyone knows how much she’s looking forward to it.<\/p>\n

In a new conversation with Today\u2019s Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones, the Oscar-winning actor opened up about what it means to her to be celebrating six decades of life.<\/p>\n

“I feel different than I thought I would feel at 60,” she said. “What is 60? What is age anymore? It\u2019s a feeling. I feel stronger, smarter, wiser, more myself, more in control. I am the best version of myself at this time in my life, and I am so glad that I\u2019m still here and healthy.”<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, she addressed what she\u2019s grateful for after a 35-year career in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

“I still get to work in movies and film and do the things that I love, tell stories that matter to me,” she explained. “Still raise my children, my family. I\u2019m still alive in it. I haven\u2019t gone off into the sunset. I haven\u2019t fallen off. I\u2019m still here doing it on my own terms.\u201d<\/p>\n

Berry\u2019s career saw two major breakthroughs: Spike Lee\u2019s 1991 film Jungle Fever, and the 1992 romantic comedy Boomerang. A decade later, in 2001, she became the first (and still, only) Black woman to win the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in Monster\u2019s Ball.<\/p>\n

As she pointed out, she has remained relevant throughout the years. She most recently starred in the crime thriller, Crime 101, alongside Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo, and is gearing up for her next offerings, the drama Fleur and the action thriller Red Card, both of which are still filming.<\/p>\n
