{"id":465598,"date":"2026-05-29T05:41:07","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T05:41:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/465598\/"},"modified":"2026-05-29T05:41:07","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T05:41:07","slug":"idf-mistakenly-fires-on-civilian-plane-amid-wave-of-hezbollah-drone-attacks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/465598\/","title":{"rendered":"IDF mistakenly fires on civilian plane amid wave of Hezbollah drone attacks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">The IDF fired at a civilian plane flying over the West Bank town of Beit El on Thursday night, after residents reported spotting four drones overhead, according to KAN News.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Soldiers began scanning the area and opened fire on a target, believing they had spotted a drone.<\/p>\n<p>It was ultimately discovered that the landing route at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-897685\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ben-Gurion Airport<\/a> had been diverted eastward, KAN noted, which meant that planes preparing to land in Tel Aviv passed closer than usual to Beit El at an altitude of about 1,500 meters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">This comes amid a recent wave of Hezbollah drone attacks on Israel&#8217;s North.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the IDF announced that a Hezbollah drone launched from Lebanon had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-897232\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">struck the roof of a home in Metula,<\/a> causing damage to the building but no injuries.<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>The Upper Galilee Regional Council confirmed in its own Monday statement that no one had been injured in the strike, adding that a fire had started at the impact site.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Later on Monday, the region experienced several drone intrusions within approximately one hour.
