Coronation Street<\/a> star Sam Aston has announced some heartwarming family news away from the ITV soap<\/a>. The actor, who plays Chesney Brown in the series, is expecting a child with wife Briony Gardner.<\/p>\n

The star confirmed the news with an amusing video on Instagram<\/a>, where he could be seen dragging his three children across the floor. As they departed the shot, the youngest child was seen holding ultrasound pictures. <\/p>\n

“Here we go again\u2026 baby Aston #4” wrote the actor in the caption, while several supportive followers and co-stars took to the comment section to express their happiness at the heartwarming news. <\/p>\n

“I was literally thinking about you yesterday and whether you\u2019d have any more! Congratulations to you all!” commented Sally Ann Matthews, who starred alongside Aston in Corrie until her departure last year.<\/p>\n

“Hahaha loooove the announcement \ud83d\ude0d welcome to the 4 kids club!!! It\u2019s bloody bonkers but you wouldn\u2019t change it for the world xxx,” wrote one follower, while another added: “Best announcement ever! \ud83d\ude02you are treasured already little one \u2764\ufe0f\ud83d\udcab\u2728 “<\/p>\n

Aston, who debuted as Chesney in 2003, spoke about his future on the soap in January 2025<\/a> amid a slew of cast exits, sharing: “I’d love to do 50 years on Corrie. I’m nearly halfway there. It’s on the cards.” <\/p>\n

“I’m currently in another 12-month contract that\u2019s been a rolling thing for the last few years. I never rest on my laurels. I wouldn’t like to think I\u2019m irreplaceable or anything like that. But as long as they want me and I’m enjoying it, I’ll stay,” he added.<\/p>\n

Aston isn’t the only Corrie star to announce some big personal news this week, with Calum Lill confirming on Tuesday (26 May)<\/a> that he and fianc\u00e9e Roberta McClarron had welcomed a child.<\/p>\n

The actor, who portrayed Joel Deering on the soap, wrote on Instagram: “Welcome to the world Primrose Lill. Here’s her first month in pictures. We\u2019re very tired but happier than ever.”<\/p>\n

“Thank you to our family and friends for all your support. You\u2019ve been amazing and we\u2019re very grateful \ud83d\ude4f And to our beautiful baby girl, you are perfect,” added the star, who departed the series in 2024. <\/p>\n

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX<\/a>.<\/p>\n
