Michael, the music biopic starring Jaafar Jackson as the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, is coming soon to digital streaming as the film continues its blockbuster run in theaters.<\/p>\n
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, Michael<\/a> opened in theaters on April 24. Jaafar Jackson \u2014 who is the son of Jermaine Jackson and nephew of the late pop icon \u2014 plays Michael Jackson in his teen and adult years. The film will be available to purchase on PVOD for $24.99 on such digital platforms as Apple TV, Fandango at Home. Michael had a production budget of $200 million before marketing costs, according to Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n Currently, Michael is the No. 2 highest-grossing music biopic of all-time, behind the Queen and Freddie Mercury 2018 biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, which earned more than $900 million worldwide.<\/p>\n While Rotten Tomatoes critics largely blasted<\/a> Michael with a 38% \u201crotten\u201d critics\u2019 score on the site\u2019s Tomatometer \u2014 among the criticisms were that the film played it too safe without including Michael Jackson\u2019s dark and complicated past \u2014 fans didn\u2019t care<\/a> and went to the movie anyway. <\/p>\n
