{"id":477848,"date":"2026-06-05T15:09:12","date_gmt":"2026-06-05T15:09:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/477848\/"},"modified":"2026-06-05T15:09:12","modified_gmt":"2026-06-05T15:09:12","slug":"epf-reemerges-as-substantial-shareholder-of-ql-resources","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/477848\/","title":{"rendered":"EPF reemerges as substantial shareholder of QL Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA LUMPUR (June 5): The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has emerged as a substantial shareholder of QL Resources Bhd (KL:<a href=\"https:\/\/theedgemalaysia.com\/askedge\/klse\/7084\" class=\"ce-stock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">QL<\/a>), following its latest acquisition of shares in the poultry farming and feedstuff trading company.<\/p>\n<p>The pension fund\u2019s shareholding crossed the 5% disclosure threshold after it acquired nearly 36 million shares, equivalent to a 0.988% stake, on May 29, according to a bourse filing on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The share acquisition is estimated to be valued at RM12.96 million, based on QL Resources\u2019 closing price of 36 sen on the day of the transaction.<\/p>\n<p>In July 2024, the EPF ceased to be a substantial shareholder of QL Resources after the fund&#8217;s shareholding slipped below the 5% threshold following the sale of about 6.42 million shares.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The latest share buy increased the fund\u2019s total stake in QL Resources to 5.761%, comprising 210.07 million shares.<\/p>\n<p>QL Resources\u2019 largest shareholders are CBG (L) Pte Ltd and Farsathy Holdings Sdn Bhd, who have a 40.33% and 11.6% stake respectively, and are investment vehicles controlled by executive chairman Dr Chia Song Kun and his family.<\/p>\n<p>For its 2026 financial year (FY2026), QL Resources\u2019 net profit slipped 1% to RM450.4 million while revenue was flat at RM7.05 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Shares in QL Resources closed up one sen or 0.3% to RM3.65 on Friday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM13.3 billion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"KUALA LUMPUR (June 5): The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has emerged as a substantial shareholder of QL Resources&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":477849,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[14],"tags":[114,268,85,46,266,267],"class_list":["post-477848","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-personal-finance","tag-business","tag-finance","tag-il","tag-israel","tag-personal-finance","tag-personalfinance"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/477848","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=477848"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/477848\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/477849"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=477848"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=477848"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=477848"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
