\n\t\u201cLove Island<\/a> UK\u201d Season 13 contestant George Knight has suddenly dropped out of the show just days after the premiere, citing his decision to reunite with family.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 28-year-old pro-football player wrote on Instagram<\/a>: \u201cFamily comes first, always. Leaving the @loveisland Villa was a decision made in order to be with my family. Out of respect for them, I\u2019d prefer not to go into any further detail. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind messages and support! It genuinely means a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tA spokesperson confirmed to Variety: \u201cFor private reasons, George has left the\u00a0\u2018Love Island\u2019\u00a0Villa.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThis latest season of \u201cLove Island UK<\/a>\u201d began airing on June 1 and features 14 total contestants, including Knight, Yasmin Hadlow, Aidan Murphy, Angelista Gunda, Ellie Chadwick, Jasmine M\u00fcller, Lola Deal, Lorenzo Alessi, Mica Harris, Ope Sowande, Robyn Langton, Sam Workman, Samraj Toor and Se\u00e1n Fitzgerald. Knight had arrived at the villa on Day 2 as a bombshell with fellow contestant Hadlow.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe news comes as \u201cLove Island USA\u201d also began airing this week. That show made headlines after contestant Vasana Montgomery was dismissed from the show before premiere night <\/a>for using a racial slur. In an Instagram story, she responded with an apology<\/a>: \u201cI want to address a couple videos from my teen years that have recently resurfaced. In those videos, I used a racial slur. There is no excuse for it, and I am deeply sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cLove Island UK\u201d episodes are available on Hulu and Disney+ three days after airing across the pond.<\/p>\n
