On Halloween 2024, the absurdly consistent Indiana rap monster Freddie Gibbs dropped his surprise album <a href=\"https:\/\/stereogum.com\/2286103\/freddie-gibbs-announces-new-album-out-tonight-shares-new-song-on-the-set\/music\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">You Only Die 1nce<\/a>. Since then, he&#8217;s re-teamed with the Alchemist for <a href=\"https:\/\/stereogum.com\/2315840\/freddie-gibbs-the-alchemist-announce-new-album-alfredo-2-out-next-week-hear-1995\/music\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Alfredo 2<\/a>, entertainingly <a href=\"https:\/\/stereogum.com\/2300225\/freddie-gibbs-the-big-2\/music\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">feuded<\/a> with JPEGMAFIA, and taught some <a href=\"https:\/\/stereogum.com\/2489874\/freddie-gibbs-is-selling-vip-pre-show-karate-lessons\/news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">karate lessons<\/a>. Now, out of nowhere, Gibbs is back with a deluxe version of You Only Die 1nce that basically includes a whole other album.<\/p>\n<p>The original You Only Die 1nce had 13 tracks, one of which has since been removed, possibly for sample-clearance issues. The new deluxe version includes an additional 10 tracks. They aren&#8217;t all new songs. Two are interludes. One is a remix to &#8220;Ruthless,&#8221; a song from the first version, which now features rising R&amp;B star Leon Thomas. Last week, Gibbs quietly released a three-song EP called RBT, and all of those songs are here. Still, even if you&#8217;ve been all over Freddie Gibbs&#8217; recorded output, a bunch of these songs will be new to you, and Gibbs will reliably rap insanely well on those tracks.
