\n\t\u201cTilda\u00a0Swinton \u2013 Ongoing<\/a>\u201d is the title of a curated exhibition at Amsterdam\u2019s\u00a0Eye Filmmuseum, which will run Sept. 28, 2025-Feb. 8, 2026, allowing visitors to explore multihyphenate Tilda Swinton<\/a> and some of her close collaborators. <\/p>\n

\n\tTHR can exclusively unveil a teaser video for the exhibition below.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cA unique and personal exhibition that centers on Swinton\u2019s creative collaborations \u2026 will showcase new and existing work by eight artistic partners and close friends: Pedro Almod\u00f3var<\/a>, Luca Guadagnino<\/a>, Joanna Hogg<\/a>, Derek Jarman, Jim Jarmusch<\/a>, Olivier Saillard, Tim Walker, and Apichatpong Weerasethakul,\u201d says the museum, highlighting: \u201cThis marks the first time that Eye Filmmuseum has devoted such extensive attention to the creative influence of a performer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSwinton herself earlier this year described<\/a> the exhibition as an opportunity \u201cto reflect on the mechanics of my working practice over the past 40 years. And to come to rest on the \u2013 ever-present \u2013 bedrock and battery of the close fellowships I found from the very first and continue to rely upon to this day.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShe added: \u201cIn focusing attention on profoundly enriching creative relationships in my life, we share the narratives and atmospheres that inspire us: we offer new work, especially commissioned for the Eye exhibition, as the most recent gestures borne out of various companionable conversations that keep me curious, engaged, and nourished.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe exhibition will also present a \u201ccontextual program\u201d featuring the Scottish performer, artist, and fashion icon\u00a0Swinton in conversation with \u201cthe artistic collaborators who have contributed new work to the exhibition. Complementing these live events, Eye will screen 40 films from Swinton\u2019s body of work in its cinemas, alongside retrospectives dedicated to Joanna Hogg and Derek Jarman.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSo what can audiences expect from \u201cTilda\u00a0Swinton \u2013 Ongoing\u201d?<\/p>\n

\n\tGuadagnino\u00a0is creating \u201ca new, intimate portrait of\u00a0Tilda\u00a0Swinton in the form of a short film and a sculpture,\u201d according to Eye. \u201cTogether with childhood friend and filmmaker\u00a0Joanna Hogg, Swinton will present\u00a0Flat 19, a multimedia reconstruction of her 1980s London apartment and an exploration of memory, space, and personal history.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAlmod\u00f3var\u00a0will present his short film\u00a0The Human Voice\u00a0(2020), starring Swinton, in an installation format for the first time, according to the Eye team. Plus, \u201cwith a new edit, image treatment, and soundtrack, filmmaker\u00a0Jim Jarmusch<\/a>\u00a0will transform existing footage from his absurdist zombie film\u00a0The Dead Don\u2019t Die\u00a0(2019) into an entirely new installation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTogether with the fashion historian\u00a0Olivier Saillard, Swinton will also stage what is described as \u201ca multi-day performance that brings a special wardrobe to life: garments from her personal collection, film costumes, red carpet dresses and family heirlooms.\u201d They are also co-developing a special display of these pieces as part of the exhibition.<\/p>\n

\n\tMeanwhile, photographer\u00a0Tim Walker\u00a0has visited\u00a0Swinton at her family home for a photo series about \u201cher connection to her forebears and continuity of place,\u201d while Weerasethakul\u00a0also visited Swinton at her home to create \u201can intriguing, meditative installation in which the presence of spirit and atmosphere becomes palpable.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFinally, Swinton will pay tribute \u201cto one of her greatest inspirations, filmmaker\u00a0Derek Jarman\u00a0(1942\u20131994), with whom she made a total of nine films,\u201d says the museum. \u201cA segment from\u00a0The Last of England\u00a0(1987) will be shown as an installation, alongside personal objects from Swinton related to their shared time and collaboration, as well as never-before-seen Super 8 footage, featuring Swinton as performer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe video teaser for \u201cTilda\u00a0Swinton \u2013 Ongoing\u201d at Amsterdam\u2019s Eye features Swinton in various situations and outfits of different colors, but always full of the magnetism she is known for.
