Now we know who will play the iconic Agatha Christie sleuth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And there\u2019s good news for the purists who feared a new, modern-day-based series.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Edward Bluemel will star as the Belgian detective in the new series called Hercule.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The six-part series is written by Benji Walters and is described as, \u201can intimate study of Hercule the man and an epic portrait of Britain between the wars. The series takes a magnifying glass to three of Christie\u2019s most celebrated stories, while also charting Hercule\u2019s burgeoning friendship with Captain Arthur Hastings, his early encounters with Scotland Yard\u2019s James Japp, and introducing him to one particular nemesis\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Filming will begin this summer, primarily in Liverpool.
