A new chapter is taking shape along Jalan Raja Chulan in Kuala Lumpur as YOTEL & Medical Centre moves closer to completion, bringing hospitality, healthcare and wellness under one roof.<\/p>\n

The integrated RM200 million development recently marked its topping-out milestone on May 29, signalling a major step forward for the 23-storey project that is set to introduce Malaysia’s first YOTEL-branded hotel alongside a dedicated medical centre.<\/p>\n

The development is owned by JD Hospitality Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Singapore-based MES Group, and is being developed in partnership with High Street Holdings.<\/p>\n

Located at 82 Jalan Raja Chulan, the project marks the transformation of the former Menara MIDF building into a contemporary mixed-use destination designed to cater for the evolving needs of local and international visitors alike.<\/p>\n

Introducing a global hospitality brand to KL<\/p>\n

The development will house YOTEL Kuala Lumpur City Centre, marking the international hospitality brand\u2019s debut in Malaysia. Known for its technology-driven approach to hospitality and smart design concepts, YOTEL has established a presence in major gateway cities such as New York, Singapore, Tokyo, London and Miami.<\/p>\n

Expected to be operational by December 2026, the KL property will feature 290 rooms and is positioned in the city’s Golden Triangle, one of the capital\u2019s most established commercial, tourism and lifestyle districts. The location places guests within easy reach of landmarks such as the Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and Bukit Bintang.<\/p>\n

In addition, nearby public transport links such as the Raja Chulan Monorail and Bukit Bintang MRT stations provide seamless connectivity across the city.<\/p>\n

YOTEL Kuala Lumpur City Centre is expected to offer a range of facilities, including a rooftop pool and bar, fitness centre, flexible dining and co-working spaces, and social areas that support both business and leisure lifestyles.<\/p>\n

The arrival of YOTEL will introduce a fresh hospitality offering to KL, aligning with growing demand for experience-driven accommodation that combines convenience, connectivity and contemporary design.<\/p>\n

Hospitality, healthcare and wellness under one roof<\/p>\n

Beyond the hotel component, the development is distinguished by the inclusion of the medical centre, which will occupy seven levels. This medical component is targeted for completion by June 2027.<\/p>\n

While the hotel will introduce an internationally recognised hospitality brand to Malaysia, JD Hospitality founder and CEO Mohamed Abdul Jaleel said the medical centre holds greater personal significance.<\/p>\n

He described the facility as the culmination of a long-held aspiration to create a healthcare destination centred on quality care and patient well-being.<\/p>\n

\u201cA hospital has been my lifelong dream. My hope has always been to build a place where quality healthcare is delivered with compassion, dignity and a genuine commitment to the well-being of every patient,\u201d he said during YOTEL & Medical Centre\u2019s topping out and groundbreaking ceremony on May 29.<\/p>\n

Together, the hotel and medical centre form an integrated concept that combines hospitality, healthcare and wellness in a single destination \u2014 a model that reflects the increasing convergence of travel, medical services and lifestyle-focused experiences.<\/p>\n

According to Sunray Construction and Interior Sdn Bhd, the main contractor of the project, the conversion of the former Menara MIDF building into YOTEL began in July 2025.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the topping out milestone, Sunray Construction and Interior managing director Tony Leong said that the milestone reflected the collective efforts of developers, consultants, engineers, contractors and project partners involved in the development.<\/p>\n

For Abdul Jaleel, the development is about creating a destination that serves both visitors and the wider community.<\/p>\n
