{"id":484797,"date":"2026-06-10T00:13:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-10T00:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/484797\/"},"modified":"2026-06-10T00:13:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-10T00:13:08","slug":"police-arrest-three-israeli-military-officials-on-suspicion-of-attempted-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/484797\/","title":{"rendered":"Police arrest three Israeli military officials on suspicion of attempted murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three people, including one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-898466\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Border Police<\/a> officer, were arrested on Monday on suspicion of having attempted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/crime-in-israel\/article-897774\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">murder<\/a> one month before, police announced on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">The investigation revealed that the officer, a man in his 20s, and two of his family members, who are both officers in the IDF, had an ambush planned out in order to carry out the murder on May 2 in southern Israel, where they live.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">Police noted that the Border Police officer had been absent from his post for about a year.<\/p>\n<p>The other two suspects include a man in his 40s who holds the rank of colonel in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jpost.com\/israel-news\/article-898898\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">IDF<\/a> reserves, and a man in his 20s currently serving voluntarily in the IDF following his mandatory service.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article-paragraph-section article-body-paragraph\">The three were brought in for questioning on Monday, and the police officer&#8217;s detention was extended by nine days.
