The pair will be awarded this November alongside animator Floyd Norman and producers Christine Vachon and Pamela Koffler.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">In a statement, the Academy called them \u201cfive remarkable individuals whose groundbreaking work has forever shaped the art of film-making\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Close, who has been nominated for films including Fatal Attraction, Dangerous Liaisons and most recently Hillbilly Elegy, is also described as an actor with an \u201cunparalleled emotional range\u201d who has \u201cbrought to life some of the most complex characters in cinema\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">The actor will next be seen in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping later this year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Scott, who has been nominated for films including Thelma &amp; Louise and Gladiator, is referred to as \u201ca true visionary whose decades-long legacy has left an immeasurable impact on global cinema and culture\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">His next film, the post-apocalyptic thriller The Dog Stars, will be released this August.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-130mj7b\">Norman is a 90-year-old animator whose work dates back to uncredited work on early Disney classics including The Jungle Book and Sleeping Beauty as well as credits on Monsters Inc and Alvin and the Chipmunks.
