Whoever said that Wham! were received stone-faced by the audience at the miners\u2019 benefit show in 1984 (Tonight the Music Seems So Loud by Sathnam Sanghera review \u2013 a heartbreaking portrait of George Michael, 2 June<\/a>) must have been at a different event to the one I attended, where the audience in front of me went wild for the band. The blinding white outfits and the energy put into Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go have stuck with me to this day, and made Arthur Scargill\u2019s oratory seem pedestrian \u2013\u00a0and it ain\u2019t often you can say that.
