\n\tNEW RECRUIT: Bruno Sialelli, who rose to prominence as creative director of Lanvin between 2019 and 2023, recently joined Balenciaga<\/a>\u2018s couture studio, according to market sources.<\/p>\n

\n\tHis title and start date could not immediately be learned.<\/p>\n

\n\tContacted by WWD on Friday, Balenciaga<\/a> said the house doesn\u2019t comment on the composition of its studio. Sialelli did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n

\n\tPierpaolo Piccioli, appointed Balenciaga\u2019s creative director<\/a> last July, is set to show his first haute couture<\/a> collection on July 8 during Paris Couture Week. (Piccioli\u2018s the most anticipated debut of the week, given his long experience and widespread acclaim at Valentino in Rome.)<\/p>\n

\n\tBalenciaga resumed its couture activity in 2021 <\/a>under then-creative director Demna, more than 50 years after Crist\u00f3bal Balenciaga closed his legendary couture house. Christian Dior once called the Spanish couturier \u201cthe master of us all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tSialleli was most recently head of ready-to-wear design at Phoebe Philo in London, according to his LinkedIn profile.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn a curious coincidence, he follows in the footsteps of Peter Copping, Lanvin\u2019s current artistic director<\/a>, who also worked in Balenciaga\u2019s couture studio after a career leading brands including Nina Ricci and Oscar de la Renta.<\/p>\n

\n\tA 2010 graduate of French fashion school Studio Ber\u00e7ot, Sialelli started his career as an assistant fashion designer and worked there until 2014, when he moved to Acne Studios as senior womenswear designer.<\/p>\n

\n\tHis r\u00e9sum\u00e9 also includes stints at Paco Rabanne and Loewe, as head of menswear.<\/p>\n
