Kadokawa<\/a> revealed on Monday a new promotional video, new visual, additional returning staff members, and the October debut for the second season<\/a> of the television anime<\/a> of writer Buncololi<\/a> and illustrator Kantoku<\/a>‘s Sasaki and Peeps<\/a> (Sasaki and Pichan<\/a>) novels.<\/p>\n

First season episode and assistant director Y\u016bshi Ibe<\/a> is now directing the second season at SILVER LINK.<\/a>, and first season episode director Yamato Ouchi<\/a> is the new season’s assistant director. First season animation director Kazunori Ozawa<\/a> is now in charge of action supervision, 2DCG designer Y\u016bko Shintani<\/a> is now the compositing director of photography, and 3D animator Tsutomu Ogasawara<\/a> is the new season’s 3D director.<\/p>\n

Returning staff members for the second season include:\n<\/p>\n

Previously announced<\/a> new staff members are music producers K\u014dji Fujimoto<\/a> (Tearmoon Empire<\/a>, Mission: Yozakura Family<\/a>) and Osamu Sasaki<\/a> (Ragna Crimson<\/a>, Mission: Yozakura Family). <\/p>\n

Crunchyroll<\/a> will stream<\/a> the new season. <\/p>\n

The first season premiered in January 2024 with a one-hour special on the AT-X<\/a> channel, and ended with its 12th episode. Crunchyroll streamed<\/a> the series in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS. Crunchyroll is also streaming<\/a> an English dub<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The anime stars:\n<\/p>\n

Mirai Minato<\/a> (Masamune-kun’s Revenge<\/a>, BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense.<\/a>) directed the first season at SILVER LINK. Deko Akao (Higehiro<\/a>, Komi Can’t Communicate<\/a>, Flying Witch<\/a>) wrote and oversaw the series scripts, and Saori Nakashiki (The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!<\/a>, Tales of Wedding Rings<\/a>) designed the characters.<\/p>\n

Yen Press<\/a> is releasing<\/a> the novels in English, and it describes the story:\n<\/p>\n

Even though Sasaki’s droll corporate life is constantly filled with work, it leaves him tired and unfulfilled at the end of every day. In search of some companionship to fill the emptiness in his life, he visits a pet shop on a whim, not realizing he’s about to change his life forever. After settling on an adorable bird and bringing it home…his new roommate reveals that it’s actually an incredible sage from another world who promptly bestows Sasaki with supernatural powers as well as the ability to cross between worlds. All Sasaki wants to do is use these newfound powers to live in peace and comfort, but there are more than a few colorful characters who might get in the way of that…<\/p>\n

Kadokawa began publishing the novel series in January 2021 with illustrations by Kantoku, and the novels are ongoing. The novels won<\/a> the Tank\u014dbon and the Novel categories of the 2022 edition of Takarajimasha<\/a>‘s Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! (This Light Novel Is Amazing!) guidebook. The 13th novel volume shipped on March 25.<\/p>\n

Pureji Osho<\/a> launched a manga adaptation on Kadokawa’s Sh\u014dnen Ace Plus<\/a> platform in 2021. Kadokawa will publish the manga’s sixth compiled book volume on June 26. <\/p>\n
