Donald Trump<\/a> said Wednesday at the G7 conference that the U.S. will “go right back to dropping bombs” if he doesn’t like the Iran deal.<\/p>\n The U.S. President said that the proposed agreement to bring the Middle East conflict to an end, which is set to be formalized at a signing ceremony in Geneva on Friday, is “not final.”<\/p>\n “It’s a memorandum of understanding, and if I don’t like it, we’ll go back to shooting at them, dropping bombs on their heads. I don’t like it if they don’t behave. We’ll go right back to dropping bombs right smack in the middle of their head,” the president said at the summit in Evian, France.<\/p>\n The signing of the memorandum of understanding would extend the U.S.-Iran ceasefire for 60 days and set up a framework for future negotiations about Tehran’s nuclear program and other key issues.<\/p>\n At least three Iranian oil tankers passed through the U.S. Navy blockade in the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday \u2014 the first such outbound shipment in two months \u2014 further signaling a potential breakthrough.<\/p>\n On Monday, Vice President\u00a0JD Vance<\/a>\u00a0told CNBC<\/a> that “a lot” of details remain to be ironed out, but he expressed confidence that America has “all the cards” in subsequent talks.<\/p>\n The Middle East conflict and the war in Ukraine are dominating the agenda at the G7 event.<\/p>\n Leaders from the wealthy Group of Seven countries \u2014 the U.S., the U.K., France, Germany, Canada, Italy and Japan \u2014 are gathering in the Alpine town<\/a> for the summit, with representatives from the European Union and Ukraine also among those invited to attend.<\/p>\n After meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and other leaders on Tuesday, Trump called on Russia to “make a deal,” telling reporters that “Russia has lost tremendous amounts of people, and so has Ukraine.”<\/p>\n Later on Wednesday, focus will turn to AI and global tech sovereignty<\/a>, with tech leaders including OpenAI’s Sam Altman, Anthropic’s Dario Amodei, Google DeepMind’s Demis Hassabis attending the event.<\/p>\n
