{"id":498437,"date":"2026-06-18T04:13:15","date_gmt":"2026-06-18T04:13:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/498437\/"},"modified":"2026-06-18T04:13:15","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T04:13:15","slug":"fda-recalls-over-350000-bottles-of-antidepressants-for-increased-levels-of-carcinogens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/il\/498437\/","title":{"rendered":"FDA recalls over 350,000 bottles of antidepressants for increased levels of carcinogens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CINCINNATI (WKRC) &#8211; The Food and Drug Administration issued a recall for over 350,000 bottles of antidepressants for potentially containing increased levels of carcinogens. <\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/index.cfm?Product=220846\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">two <\/a>recall <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accessdata.fda.gov\/scripts\/ires\/index.cfm?Product=220996\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">reports<\/a>, bottles of 30 milligram and 60 milligram doses of Duloxetine were recalled due to the potential presence of an unsafe amount of N-nitroso-duloxetine impurity.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fda.gov\/drugs\/drug-safety-and-availability\/information-about-nitrosamine-impurities-medications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">FDA <\/a>reported that exposure to these impurities &#8220;may increase the risk of cancer if people are exposed to them above acceptable levels and over long periods of time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Specific information regarding affected lot numbers can be found in the recall reports.
