Under a new public-private partnership, Relativity Space will provide the \u201cspacecraft, rocket, and cruise operations\u201d to fly Aeolus to Mars, where the payload will \u201cprovide the first integrated, daily, global view of Martian winds, temperatures, dust, and clouds.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">The Aeolus payload will have four instruments on board for studying the Martian atmosphere, which NASA says will \u201cdirectly inform entry, descent, and landing systems and support safer, more predictable mission planning for astronauts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1044qizi _18mzr4b1 _18mzr4b0 _19wv7tc1\">Schmidt, who served as CEO of Google from 2001 to 2011, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/news\/627365\/google-eric-schmidt-relativity-space-ceo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">became Relativity Space\u2019s CEO<\/a> in 2025, a couple of years after it launched the \u201cworld\u2019s first 3D-printed rocket,\u201d Terran 1, which failed shortly after launch.
