US President Trump said there were no limits to his power and that he believed the Memorandum of Understanding<\/a> between Washington and Tehran constituted Iran\u2019s unconditional surrender in an interview with Axios on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt really probably is unconditional surrender. I think so,\u201d Trump said when asked about the MoU.<\/p>\n

Trump emphasized the damage the US had done to Iran\u2019s military forces and senior officials, including Iran\u2019s former supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, claiming that he had achieved regime change through killing the previous government officials.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I sadly hurt the other ayatollah,\u201d Trump added, speaking of Iran\u2019s current Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei<\/a>, who the US president said \u201cis different from the father.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got a certain braveness because he was, he\u2019s badly injured,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n

Trump continued to describe Iran\u2019s leadership<\/a> as \u201cprimitive geniuses\u201d and the American operations against Tehran as \u201can excursion to stop a very vile little group of people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI had to stop them because if they had a nuclear weapon, they would use it,\u201d Trump asserted, reiterating a claim that if he did not act, Iran would have used a nuclear weapon against Israel.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it weren\u2019t for Donald Trump, Israel would have been eviscerated,\u201d the US president asserted.<\/p>\n

He also claimed that Iran would have used nuclear weapons against Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
When asked about his relationship with Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said it is \u201cgood.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThey have a lot of respect for me, and they do as I say,\u201d he explained, claiming that he will be able to prevent Israel from continuing actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Trump claims there are ‘no limits’ to his power<\/p>\n

When asked if the war with Iran taught him anything about the limits of his power, Trump told Axios that \u201cthere are no limits.\u201d
\u201cI think that there are no limits. We have the most powerful military in the world, by far,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

Trump also disputed allegations that he \u201cwasn\u2019t tough enough\u201d on the Iranian regime, asserting that the US\u2019s Operation Epic Fury wiped out Iran\u2019s military, air force, air defenses, and navy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe only way I can get tougher is if I go in there for another two or three weeks and continue to bomb the hell out of them,\u201d he said, adding that there would be no benefit to making such a move.<\/p>\n

The Strait of Hormuz, Trump explained, is where the consequences of continuing to strike Iran would immediately show.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Hormuz Strait would be totally closed. You would have mines all over it,\u201d he elaborated. \u201cWe wouldn\u2019t have oil for months.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have one primary wish as president in terms of people,\u201d Trump told Axios. \u201c I never want to be the late, great Herbert Hoover. This is the kind of thing that could cause a worldwide depression.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now that the US-Iran MoU has been finalized and the Strait of Hormuz has reopened for commercial shipping, Trump said that the price of oil is \u201ctumbling. The ships are roaring out of there\u2026 The stock market is way up, way, way up.\u201d<\/p>\n
