SEOUL, June 20 \u2014 Singer Hwasa is still wrapping her head around having one of the world\u2019s biggest tech leaders in her fan club.<\/p>\n
The Mamamoo star admitted she initially thought it was artificial intelligence \u2014 not reality \u2014 after learning that Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang had publicly named her as one of his favourite K-pop artists.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt first, I thought it was AI,\u201d Hwasa said during Thursday\u2019s episode of KBS music talk show The Seasons: Sung Si-kyung\u2019s Ear Candy, where Mamamoo made its first full-group television appearance almost four years.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I first heard the news, I felt honoured, but it didn\u2019t feel real.\u201d<\/p>\n
Host Sung Si-kyung couldn\u2019t resist teasing the singer over her very famous admirer.<\/p>\n
\u201cIsn\u2019t it just being liked by a businessman,\u201d he joked. \u201cBut just that he\u2019s incredibly rich.\u201d<\/p>\n
For Hwasa, however, the moment has only become more meaningful with time.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs time goes by, I realise he has been giving me a sincere shoutout, and I feel grateful every time I go to sleep,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Huang\u2019s unexpected K-pop confession quickly became one of the hottest entertainment moments to come out of his recent visit to Seoul.<\/p>\n
During an appearance on tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block, Huang surprised host Yoo Jae-suk when asked about the music on his playlist.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Rather than offering a vague answer, Huang singled out Hwasa by name, calling her a \u201cgood dancer and good singer.\u201d<\/p>\n
He even proved he wasn\u2019t just a casual listener, naming not only her 2025 hit Good Goodbye\u00a0but also her April single So Cute\u00a0\u2014 a detail that visibly impressed Yoo.<\/p>\n
The shoutout sparked buzz among both K-pop and tech fans, with many delighted to discover that one of the most influential figures in artificial intelligence is also an enthusiastic Hwasa fan.<\/p>\n
For Hwasa, though, the biggest surprise wasn\u2019t that Jensen Huang knew who she was \u2014 it was believing the praise was genuine in the first place.<\/p>\n
