Blossoms<\/a> surprised fans with a pop-up gig from the back of a van \u2013 check out footage below.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, the Manchester indie band announced their sixth studio album, \u2018Songs From The Wedding Cake\u2019<\/a>. It\u2019s due out on October 2nd via ODD SK \/ Distiller Records \u2013 pre-order\/pre-save here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

To celebrate, last night (June 20), they showed up outside 42nd Street Nightclub in Manchester, where they performed a brief gig from the back of a van.\u00a0They opened with \u2018Your Girlfriend\u2019, before launching into their new single \u2018Joke About Divorce<\/a>\u2018, and then \u2018Gary\u2019.<\/p>\n

They then played \u2018There\u2019s a Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls)\u2019, before wrapping up with their 2016 hit \u2018Charlemagne\u2019.<\/p>\n

So far, they\u2019ve kicked off the upcoming album with lead single \u2018Joke About Divorce\u2018, and\u00a0 \u2018Meet Me In Love\u2019 \u2013 along with an album trailer featuring The Inbetweeners<\/a>\u2018 James Buckley. With backing vocals from\u00a0Declan McKenna<\/a>, the \u2018Meet Me In Love\u2019 video stars Maya Jama and Callum Scott Howells.<\/p>\n

Produced by Shawn Lee (Young Gun Silver Fox), the album will also feature a collaboration with McKenna on the track \u2018Additional Driver\u2019. On social media, the band also teased appearances from\u00a0Rick Astley<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Inhaler<\/a>\u00a0frontman Elijah Hewson.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Blossoms have announced their biggest ever headline tour, where they\u2019re set to play at a number of arenas across the UK in November.\u00a0The Royston Club<\/a>\u00a0will join them as support on all dates.<\/p>\n

Kicking off at Cardiff\u2019s Utilita Arena on November 26, the band will make stops at London\u2019s Ally Pally (27), moving on to a hometown show at Manchester\u2019s Co-Op Live (28). After a show at Birmingham\u2019 Utilita Arena (December 4), they\u2019ll round off with a final show at Glasgow\u2019s OVO Hydro (5).<\/p>\n

We last spoke to Blossoms<\/a>\u00a0in 2024, where frontman Tom Ogden opened up about collaborating with\u00a0CMAT<\/a>\u00a0on their album \u2018Gary\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was definitely a breakthrough moment,\u201d Ogden told us. \u201cI heard her album while I was record shopping in Brighton, and every tune was just blowing me away, so I went up to the counter and asked who it was, and it turned out she was playing in town that night. We went to see her in this tiny venue \u2013 it blew us away, and Myles cried. Then we went for a few drinks around some pubs in Brighton and had a great laugh.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen it came to writing the album, we\u2019d booked some time away in Wales, which she ended up coming along with us for the week. There was this injection of adrenaline into the band, and we came out with two incredible songs.\u201d<\/p>\n
