Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco walked the blue carpet at the closing ceremony of the 65th Monte Carlo Television Festival on June 16. The festival was created in the early 1960s by Albert\u2019s parents, Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace, who herself appeared often on television in the early years of her acting career. Prince Albert has been the festival\u2019s honorary president since 1988.<\/p>\n

Familiar celebrities from around the world can often be seen at the festival, especially at the presentation of the Golden Nymph Awards during the festival\u2019s closing ceremony. Among the famous faces at this year\u2019s ceremony were the American actors Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, who was the recipient of this year\u2019s Crystal Nymph award.<\/p>\n

Princess Charlene\u2019s choice of gown for the black-tie gala provided plenty of sparkle all on its own. She chose a Jenny Packham dress<\/a>, which is completely covered in sequins, for the occasion. She\u2019s worn pieces from the brand several times in recent months, including a sparkling outing in Monte Carlo<\/a> in May.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Charlene kept her jewelry sensibly simple to avoid competing with the dazzling dress. Here, you get a good look at the diamond stud earrings she paired with the gown. The size of the diamonds neatly echoes the largest sequins on the dress.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n Charlene\u2019s other big accessory was her pear-shaped diamond engagement ring, which she wore in its usual place on her left hand.<\/p>\n I\u2019ll see you back here later today for a big tiara bash: the state banquet hosted by the Belgian royals in honor of the Emperor and Empress of Japan.
