Kristen Stewart<\/a> honored Chanel<\/a>\u2018s storied history on Tuesday while attending the first day of the \u201cNouvelles Vagues\u201d International Biarritz Film Festival<\/a> in Biarritz, France.<\/p>\n

The Oscar-nominated \u201cSpencer\u201d star turned to the French luxury fashion house\u2019s cruise 2027 collection <\/a>for her attire in the seaside, Southwestern town in France. The knitted piece was cast in black, with a customized slightly off-the-shoulder neckline and three-quarter-length sleeves.<\/p>\n

The miniskirt included biker shorts just beneath and stripes of red and cream were included at the neckline, cuffs, hem of the shorts and on the skirt. Small, symmetrical gold buttons were also added to the skirt.<\/p>\n

Stewart added a crocodile-textured black leather strap belt with the interlocking Chanel logo in gold at her waist for added silhouette definition. She completed the look with minimal jewelry pieces, black loafers and a pair of sunglasses to boot. <\/p>\n

Matthieu Blazy<\/a> began his role as the creative director of Chanel <\/a>in April 2025, replacing Virginie Viard. The cruise 2027 collection marked a significant, sentimental moment for the couturier, who staged the presentation in the seaside town where Gabrielle \u201cCoco\u201d\u00a0Chanel\u00a0founded her first couture house.<\/p>\n

\u201cBlazy, who\u2019s been coming to Biarritz since he was a kid, made a natural connection with one of his personal obsessions: mermaids. Model Noor Khan starred as a sea creature in the charming black-and-white teaser film for the show, and closed the display in a turquoise sequined gown with a fishtail hem,\u201d Joelle Diderich wrote in WWD\u2019s review of the collection. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis is where she took her first steps into fashion,\u201d Blazy said after the show, per Diderich\u2019s review. \u201cWhat\u2019s very interesting about Biarritz is that she basically observed. She watched the swimmers. She tanned. She watched the sailors.\u201d<\/p>\n

The International Biarritz Film Festival celebrates the next generation of filmmakers and cinematic storytellers. The 2026 edition of the festival kicked off on Tuesday and concludes on Sunday.<\/p>\n
