Princess Kate<\/a> has found herself caught in the middle as King Charles III<\/a> continues his efforts to mend his fractured relationship with Prince Harry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While the Princess of Wales, 44, supports Charles\u2019 desire to reconnect with his younger son, a source exclusively tells National Examiner that she has mixed emotions over the possibility of Harry, 41, reuniting with the royal family in the U.K. amid reports that his wife, Meghan Markle<\/a>, and their two children, Archie<\/a>, 7, and Lilibet<\/a>, 5, will also join him.<\/p>\n

\u201cKate is an incredibly forgiving person, but there has been so much hurt stirred up over the years by Meghan, it\u2019s impossible for her to simply forget everything and move on overnight,\u201d the source says.<\/p>\n

According to the source, Kate wants to support Charles, 77, during what has been a difficult period for the monarch and believes Harry deserves the opportunity<\/a> to repair his relationship with his father. However, Meghan\u2019s potential involvement complicates matters.<\/p>\n

\u201cKate does want to see Harry, and she wants to do whatever she can to help the King, but there\u2019s no denying that having Meghan there makes things worlds more complicated for her,\u201d the source says. \u201cNot least because Prince William<\/a> is so against the whole idea and Kate can\u2019t simply ignore his feelings.\u201d<\/p>\n

Prince William, 44, has remained far less receptive to the idea<\/a> of reconciling with Harry, and it\u2019s left Kate in the difficult position of balancing her husband\u2019s concerns with her own desire to support Charles.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe understands why Charles is pushing for reconciliation, and she genuinely believes Harry should have this chance, but it\u2019s still hard to stomach the idea of having to play nice with Meghan,\u201d the source continues.<\/p>\n

According to the source, Kate\u2019s feelings have remained largely unchanged despite the years of family turmoil.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf Harry was coming on his own it would be a very different story. Kate has always had a soft spot for him,\u201d the source explains. \u201cIt\u2019s Meghan\u2019s involvement that changes the dynamic completely.\u201d<\/p>\n

The source also claims that Kate can\u2019t help but worry that any reunion involving the Suits alum, 44, could reignite old tensions within the family.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs much as Kate wants this peace, it\u2019s impossible not to worry about what chaos Meghan will bring,\u201d the source adds.<\/p>\n

A separate source previously told National Examiner that Kate has been hoping William and Harry would make amends sooner rather than later<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn her view, the longer they wait to deal with this, the worse it\u2019s getting,\u201d the source said on June 19. \u201cShe\u2019s even said she fears that this could be the last chance because the longer this goes on, the more the hurts stack up, and at some point there\u2019s just too much water under the bridge.\u201d<\/p>\n
